GIANT Standalone Lat & Low Row

Pros:
Great value, has good build quality and doesn't take up too much space.
Cons:
Very bad packaging. All the nuts/bolts/washers were wrapped in a flimsly sheet of plastic, which was then wrapped by a box labeled "kettlebell". It felt like a last ditch effort to fix some previous complaints about this part of the packaging. It all fell out when I picked it up. There was a hole in the overall package where the bolts were, so I'm lucky none of them fell out. Support beams were not pre-bolted as stated in the instructions. There were 4 bolts that did not match anything in the parts list, so I just assumed those were for the support beams. The ruler on the parts list is not to scale. The foot plate was pre-installed onto the base beam, but the welding was done in reverse. The textured face of the plate that is supposed to be facing up, is facing down. It also does not lay flat on the ground. Missing end covers for the leg support. A bunch of extra washers that don't fit any of the bolts, not sure why those were included. The PDF instructions do NOT match the video instructions. You have to go through both and pick apart what each one does best. The video shows you step by step on which parts to assemble in order, but is a bit too zoomed out to really see whats going on during some steps. The PDF instructions tell you to assemble the pulleys before you need to, prompting the need to disassemble/reassemble them later on. It also tells you the wrong bolts to use in some areas, that do not match the exploded diagram on the parts list. It feels like the manufacturing and shipping process is just missing a few layers of quality assurance/control.

Overall: Biggest issue was the unboxing/packaging, couple of unimportant missing pieces and messy instructions. But it's a one-time headache for a great product at a great price. I would buy from GIANT agian, but maybe only in the future when they fix their quality control.

The item quality seems pretty good. I like the aluminum pulleys and the height is great compared to other similar machines being a 6’5” man. But the guide rods on one of the internally welded bolts was welded in too far and the bolt they sent wouldn’t reach. I had to get a bolt with the same threads that would reach to fix the issue. Also the hardware wasn’t packaged well before shipping and all the nuts and washers were sliding around loose in the box. Thankfully nothing was missing.
The biggest problem that I think needs addressed is the lack of assembly instructions. It comes with one sheet with a diagram of the full machine, that is it.

What can I say Giant is a step above everyone customer service is top notch prices are great and products are quality! This wasn’t my first purchase with Giant Lifting and it won’t be my last love this shop!

Hey listen, my review for this prodcut will mirror others, in that, the product is excellent; well made; good material, etc. And yes, the assembly instructions are a joke, as is the assmebly video. Sorry, I am not trying to be rude or snarky, but that assembly video does no one any favors. I suggest GIANT make a new video, and not one that is rushed. There is no crime in making an assembly video that is longer than a few minutes. Anyhow, the most important thing I want to note is the fantastic service provided by Travis. I had some issues with my delivery: MISSING all bolts and screws, and the weight sled was completely rusted on the inside hole, which, made it impossible to thread a critical cable to and through the weight sled. But, after a few emails and phone calls with Travis, all ended well. But seriously, his customer service was outstanding!! Product: A ; assembly video and instructions: F; Customer service: A+++

Shipped extremely quickly. Good packaging, not perfect, but way above decent. No scuffs on equipment. Directions are COMPLETE Garbage. An exploded diagram, no words or explanations. You can figure it out, but would have been nice to have some explanation in a few spots. Some screws were not with the screw pack, but already screwed into the upright slides. Two were misthreaded, cross threaded. One very hard to get out. Have your own tools and WD40! Other screws were already assembled with washers, bolts and spacers. That made identification easy and low hassle. Construction is decent, fantastic if you factor in price/value. Works well. Looks good. Would buy again.
