GIANT BD3X Axis 4-Post - Half Rack Functional Trainer (Short)
BD3X AXIS Rack — Built to Grow With You
The BD3X AXIS Rack is a fully modular rack system that’s designed out of the box to elevate your training. Built with massive 11 gauge 3"x3" uprights, 2" hole spacing, and 1" diameter holes this rack plays well with a ton of popular components and accessories out there, including our BD3X series options.
We created this rack to hit the sweet spot between value and performance. It’s solid where it counts and completely overbuilt for years of hard training.
Color Options:
Every rack comes with three upright color options (Space Black, Concrete Grey, or Volcanic Red), but all the crossmembers come as space black.
What sets it apart?
A fluid cable pulley system powered by heavy-duty machined steel guide rails—not the hollow kind. These rails connect to a precision aluminum bracket that cuts down the wobble and keeps the weight stack perfectly aligned. It’s one of those small details that make a big difference—and yeah, we made sure not to overlook it.
The cable pulley system wouldn't be smooth without aluminum bearing pulleys and a 1,000 lb capacity wiring system. We built this system to be affordable out of the gate.
Start with a dual 160 lb weight stacks (320 lbs total) or a dual 210 lb weight stacks (420 lbs total). If you start with a 160 lb dual stack and want to upgrade the stack to 210 lbs later, we will launch a conversion kit in the coming months whenever you're ready—easy upgrade, no hassle.
Out of the box, your AXIS Half Rack includes:
All of your functional trainer component needs for assembly
Your Choice: 160lb or 210lb Dual Weight Stacks (2:1 Ratio)
All black anodized aluminum pulleys throughout the system
Pair of newly designed 3X 2.0 J-cups
One pair of D-handles
A 1.25" EZ Grip standard pull-up bar
Massive 1" black zinc hardware throughout the rack
Key Features:
Cables & Pulleys
The AXIS System runs on 3/16" (.1875") aircraft-grade cables— and nylon-coated for long-term durability. These premium 7-strand, 19-wire cables offer the perfect mix of resilience and flexibility, built to handle constant movement over pulleys and wraps around your rack with authority. Every AXIS rack is decked out with ball-bearing black anodized aluminum pulleys—for the smoothest pulls possible. Because let’s be honest: lifting’s already hard enough.
Trolley's
Peep Hole
Eliminate the guesswork with a peephole that aligns perfectly with the laser-cut numbers on the rack’s upright—making height adjustments quick, easy, and accurate.
Locking Pin
To top it off, we’ve included an oversized locking pin. It's intentionally overbuilt so you won’t have to fumble with multiple pins when adjusting height—just one pin, rock-solid, every time.
Knurled Handle
Everything’s better with knurling—so we added a light aggressive volcano pattern to the trolley handle for a solid, no-slip grip when adjusting along the rack.

Rods & Weight Plates
Let’s be real—guide rods and weight stacks aren’t the sexiest part of a functional trainer. But when it comes to getting the smoothest pull possible, they’re absolutely critical. We found that solid machined steel rods (not hollow) are a must. Hollow rods create reverberation and allow for side-to-side movement, which messes with the feel and adds noise.
After a ton of testing, we landed on plastic-lined weight plates that make precise contact with the rods, dramatically reducing movement and making each pull feel smooth. To take it even further, we added an aluminum alignment connector on the top plate to keep everything perfectly in line from top to bottom along the rod. You may not think about rods and plates while you’re lifting—but trust us, you’ll feel the difference. We obsessed over the details so you can stay focused on lifting.

Great customer service and the product is awesome!
Hi Mark!
Thank you so much for your purchase and glad you are liking your rack!
-Giant Team
First off I’ll start by saying the equipment is solid! Finish looks great and customer service has been top notch! I will say I’m a little upset that when I purchased I thought it came with the large name header top crossmember. To my surprise that option is no longer offered. That look is much cleaner and makes the rack look better imo and I would’ve loved the option to have that instead and if that option isn’t available anymore then the advertising should be updated to reflect so. Secondly I ordered the upgraded weight stack and only received the standard, lighter stack. These reasons are the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I will say that the customer service has seemed to be proactive to this point so I’m hopeful they will resolve the weight stack issue.
I researched half-rack functional trainers for months before buying this. I compared it closely against the Fringe Dane 2.0, REP Altitude, Mikolo 2.0, Titan setups, and pieced-together rack + cable builds. I dug into steel specs, hole sizing, cable ratios, and long-term compatibility.
I’ll be honest — the lack of in-depth reviews from people like Gluck or other major reviewers gave me pause. There just wasn’t much out there. But based on specs and pricing (especially on sale), I took the chance.
After building it and getting my first workout in, I can confidently say: this thing is an absolute steal.
The 3×3 / 1” ecosystem is legit. The 210 lb stacks (2:1) feel substantial when connected. The rack is rigid. The footprint is efficient. It competes far above its price point.
The process wasn’t perfect. Freight arrived rough. The wrong cables were initially sent. Two factory-installed bolts orientation required extra work to correct. But here’s the part that matters: every issue was acknowledged and resolved. Replacement parts were shipped quickly, communication was direct, and they issued a goodwill credit.
Could QC improve? Yes.
Did they stand behind the product? Also yes.
If you’re someone who does deep research and understands trade-offs in this category, I think you’ll come away feeling the same way: this is serious equipment at a very fair price. Frankly, once more credible reviewers get their hands on it, I wouldn’t be surprised to see demand - and pricing - move.
Very happy with the purchase.
I reviewed many products of similar configuration and settled on the tall half rack unit as thats what fits my needs. As a long tome weight lifter, and older now, I appreciate the company putting their efforts into the mechanics of the units, pulleys and cables. Also I did receive the wrong length cables, but before I had a chance to notify them of the issue I received an email that they had already discovered the issue and new cables were already in the mail. Thats called being on top of your of customer service mistakes will happen but its good to know the place where you spend your money is actually looking out for their customer satisfaction. Great unit, very smooth mechanics, very satisfied. Thank you Giant Lifting.

Replaced my older wall mounted Giant wall rack with this one and couldn't be happier. Came with a defective trolly from the factory and the Giant guys immediately replaced it with no hesitation. Great bang for buck. Wish I woulda got the 210lb stack, but thats on ne for not wanting to wait.
